Olandria's Corset, Hailey Bieber's Gold Dress, & More CFDA Awards Celebrity Looks

The CFDA Awards is one of the most important events on the American fashion calendar as it celebrates U.S. designers and tastemakers who are shaping the industry and pushing it forward. Each year, luminaries gather at the American Museum of Natural History to celebrate the designers, celebrities, media moguls, and philanthropists making strides in the fashion world in America and beyond. And the red carpet is not to be missed: designers often invite certain celebrities to attend as their guests and dress them for the occasion.

This year saw no shortage of head-turning looks on the red carpet, from Elle Fanning and PinkPantheress in joyful designs from Coach, to Olandria in a show-stopping custom outfit from Brandon Blackwood. Inside the ceremony, which was hosted by Keke Palmer, Rachel Scott of Diotima won American Womenswear Designer of the Year; Anthony Vaccarello was presented with the International Designer of the Year Award by Hailey Bieber, Zoë Kravitz, and Rosé; Gap Inc. took home the Innovation Award; and Colleen Allen was awarded the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year.

Diaper Shorts Are Back - How to Shop the Controversial TikTok Trend

Of all the street style trends to dominate our FYP and social media feeds in recent years, bloomer shorts seems to be the most bizarre (and ironically one of our top favorites) yet. And who do we have to thank for it? TikTok, of course. In a single scroll on the popular app, you've probably come across the piece multiple times, from those viral Miu Miu briefs to Aritzia's more affordable offerings. Slightly more flirty and risqué than the stomach pudge dress or the fisherman aesthetic , bloomer shorts (aka "diaper shorts") have officially made it to the top of the sartorial food chain. What Are Bloomer Shorts? While the idea of bloomer shorts may seem new or daunting at first, they're far from groundbreaking. Similarly to most trends, the good ol' "everything is new again" concept applies here, as the fad dates back to 1850 when the silhouette was invented as a practical solution for women's health and comfort - eventually grabbing the atten...

Does Uniqlo Heattech Really Keep You Warm? An Editor Investigates

I live in a perpetual state of being cold. Whether it's 70 degrees or below 17, you're bound to find me wrapped up in a blanket at home or venturing out with a jacket in tow. Growing up in Arizona hasn't exactly prepared me for how to navigate cooler temperatures, which is why I often rely on heavy layering during the winter months to keep myself feeling warm. In the past, this has translated into me dressing like Ralphie's younger brother from "A Christmas Story" - think chunky snowsuits, a double-wrapped wool scarf, and so many layers I'm hardly able to breathe (let alone move around). It wasn't until I was introduced to Uniqlo Heattech gear that I realized lightweight, movable thermals exist. Uniqlo's Heattech line is arguably one of the brand's most popular collections. Loved by shoppers for its wide variety of styles, the capsule boasts warm, insulated pieces that are designed to replicate the effectiveness of a thermal layer without the...

Barry Manilow Shuts Down Michael Kors's Studio 54-Themed Fall 2019 Runway

Michael Kors has established himself as the go-to designer for all things American glamour, whether that's easy West Coast chic or '80s power bitch, so it was not particularly surprising when he cited the Studio 54-era of New York City as inspiration behind his Fall 2019 collection, shown ...
