Sydney Sweeney Pairs a Micro Miniskirt With the Polarizing Heels-and-Socks Trend

Sydney Sweeney is one to watch not only when it comes to her acting abilities, but her style, too. You may recognize the actress from HBO's hit series "Euphoria" or "The White Lotus," for which her characters wear personality-defining outfits - and that's something she has in common with them. The 25-year-old star has quickly made a name for herself in Hollywood, working with stylist Molly Dickson on her red carpet glam and partnering with brands like Frankie's Bikinis, Miu Miu, and Dickies to launch capsule collections to make her fans go wild.

One thing's for sure - Sweeney is no stranger to a sultry, plunging neckline, skin-baring dress that involves sheer elements, or casual flash of ab when she's walking down the street. Some of her most memorable ensembles to date include the bedazzled low-rise Miu Miu skirt she wore to the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards; the LaQuan Smith metal breastplate she sported to the 2022 GQ Men of the Year Awards; and the Jessica Rabbit-esque crystal-covered red Miu Miu dress she chose for the 73rd Berlinale International Film Festival. Sweeney has so far attended two Met Galas, working with Tory Burch on a leggy corset minidress with a detachable train for her debut, and then the Miu Miu atelier one year later on an embellished nude mermaid gown with bows. At Cannes, she helped to launch the visible bra dress trend in a layered Miu Miu slip that impressed with its effortless sensuality.

Sweeney, who stars in HBO's new film "Reality," stepped out for an appearance on the Today show on Wednesday, May 31, rocking a somewhat surprising mint-green Thom Browne look - a take on light academia with its blazer, asymmetrical pleated miniskirt, and contrast tie. She played up her eye-catching hemline in shapely black slingblacks worn over frilly white socks. Her long, blonde hair was parted at the center and left in loose waves, while she boasted a translucent manicure and peach-toned makeup. Sweeney needed little more than miniature yellow-gold hoops to finish off the outfit for her appearance.
