TikTok Convinced Me to Buy This $25 Cable-Knit Sweater, and I Have Zero Regrets

I don't know about you, but there are some comfortable wardrobe staples that I reach for more frequently than others - and they run the gamut in terms of the state they're in. For example: on the one hand, there's a pair of oversize, paint-stained sweatpants I've had in my possession since 2013 and newer, cuter silhouettes like the A New Day Crewneck Pullover Sweater ($25). I first came across it on TikTok. Countless shoppers on my feed had unveiled hauls from the retailer featuring the cozy silhouette (like this one), and you can bet that I was one of the many who were influenced to buy it. Ahead, I dive into my honest reviews on it to determine whether or not you should add it to your virtual shopping cart, too.

What I Like About This Sweater

I was drawn to this sweater for its chicness and, admittedly, the $25 price tag. The ribbed knit design stood out to me for the way it adds a cozy touch of texture, while pairing perfectly with any pair of bottoms, be it trousers, jeans, a miniskirt - you name it. I'm one of the *many* people right now who's trying to be ultra selective about what pieces I add to my shopping cart, because I want them to remain in my wardrobe for years and be versatile enough that they'll get several uses per season. This sweater certainly checks all of my boxes in that sense. Not to mention, it comes in 10 different colors and patterns (six monochrome hues and four fun designs).

What's Worth Noting About Sweater

Unsure of how this sweater would fit, I ordered it in both small and medium, so you don't have to. The size chart advised that sizes 4-6 opt for size small, but since I hover between sizes 6-8, I wasn't sure what the fit would be like. The verdict is that medium was the right fit for me, and I recommend it for those who prefer a slightly oversize fit, especially those who frequently tuck their tops into their bottoms, which I do almost always. The photo of me in the cream sweater is the medium, green is the small. Despite loving the color, the small felt way too fitted on my arms and too short on my waist; so I'll be returning it. All in all, I recommend sizing up for a casual, relaxed fit, especially since a lot of reviews touch on how it was more cropped than expected.

Who This Sweater Is Best For

This sweater is best for those like me who are looking for versatile tops that you can see yourself wearing for years. It's a timeless silhouette that I look forward to pairing with everything from a classic pair of blue jeans to a more trendy trouser-and-loafer look.

Additional Details

  • It comes in regular and plus sizing in XS-4X.
  • It comes in six monochrome hues and four patterns (two striped designs and two colorblocked designs).
  • It's made of 60 percent cotton and 40 percent acrylic.

The Boob-Window Trend Is All Over the Red Carpet From Sydney Sweeney to Chlöe

The boob window is the new trend in celebrity dressing making waves this year, both on and off the red carpet. As early as January, in fact, Lori Harvey stepped out to celebrate her 26th birthday in the LBD version of the look, flaunting an asymmetrical midi from The Attico with a chest cutout that circled her cleavage, and was further amplified by an attention-grabbing neck-tie sash. The outfits that follow often resemble halter silhouettes, although not all of these numbers boast a strap on each side. Sydney Sweeney is the latest style icon to give it a go, opting for a brown silk gown that she wore alongside model Izabel Goulart while vacationing in Ibiza. For a night out, the 25-year-old " Euphoria " star rocked her one-shoulder design with gold jewelry, dewy makeup, and her bright blonde hair in loose waves. The bodice of her dress was secured near her collar bone, where fabric from one side was pulled through a loop at the other, wrapping around to the back. The r...

Candice Huffine: "Size Does Not Equal Health, and Weight Does Not Equal Worth"

Image Source: Luvlette Born in Washington DC and raised in a Maryland suburb, Candice Huffine did a little bit of everything when she was growing up, from being captain of the cheerleading squad to taking her turn as a pageant queen. "It was 'typical' in a Hallmark movie kind of way, I guess," Huffine tells POPSUGAR. "These details are important to mention because they did influence my life path. I willingly put myself on a stage at every turn - and not always kind ones - to do the things I loved or to follow a dream I had." Huffine, 39, signed her first modeling contract in 2000. She was "determined" to be a model, despite the fashion industry being notoriously discriminatory toward plus-size people. Knowing the odds were stacked against her propelled Huffine even further toward realizing her dream. "When I received a contract as a plus-size model, it unlocked a new mission in me: to not pursue modeling just for myself, but to push har...
