8 Fashion Items From Women-Owned Brands That Are Trending for Spring

If you've made it a priority to support more women-owned clothing brands as you refresh your spring and summer wardrobe, then you'll want to add Hampden's newest offering to your seasonal shopping list. The retailer just announced that it's kicking off the first of several exclusive product drops with pieces from four female-founded brands, all of which happen to be favorites among style obsessives.

The first iteration features one-of-a-kind items from four visionary women in fashion, including Gigi Burris, Kika Vargas, Lingua Franca, and Ulla Johnson. Gigi Burris designed warm weather accessories like a straw hat and a patterned headband. Kiki Vargas opted for bold patterns, crafting a dress, top, and shorts in the same lilac silk jacquard print. Knitwear favorite Lingua Franca created a navy cashmere sweater featuring Hampden's three core brand values: "Humble, Hungry, Smart." And celebrity favorite Ulla Johnson debuted a quintessential swingy summer dress, available in a rich orchid hue or in a vibrant multicolored floral print.

"My hope is that these special pieces become staples in your wardrobe," Hampden founder and CEO Stacy Smallwood said in a press release. "It's a privilege being able to support and collaborate with other female entrepreneurs. It's what drives me."

Smallwood began her career in fashion in the Neiman Marcus buying program. Her first position was as an assistant buyer, eventually working her way up to department manager in the flagship store. Then, in February 2007, Smallwood went out on her own to open Hampden.

Today, it's a boutique in Charleston, South Carolina that spans nearly 10,000 square feet and is filled with expertly curated designer items, ranging from ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Each season, Smallwood travels the world to discover and seek out new items that inspire her, hand selecting each piece that's on display in the boutique.

Fittingly, these forthcoming product drops will also coincide with Hampden's 15th anniversary celebrations. "Hampden is truly a labor of love, and I cannot wait for you all to see what we have been planning in celebration of this special milestone," Smallwood said. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to kick off our 15th anniversary with four incredible designer exclusives from female founded brands."

The Hampden exclusives are available for a limited time and can be purchased online and in-store. Get a first look at the collection below.

The Boob-Window Trend Is All Over the Red Carpet From Sydney Sweeney to Chlöe

The boob window is the new trend in celebrity dressing making waves this year, both on and off the red carpet. As early as January, in fact, Lori Harvey stepped out to celebrate her 26th birthday in the LBD version of the look, flaunting an asymmetrical midi from The Attico with a chest cutout that circled her cleavage, and was further amplified by an attention-grabbing neck-tie sash. The outfits that follow often resemble halter silhouettes, although not all of these numbers boast a strap on each side. Sydney Sweeney is the latest style icon to give it a go, opting for a brown silk gown that she wore alongside model Izabel Goulart while vacationing in Ibiza. For a night out, the 25-year-old " Euphoria " star rocked her one-shoulder design with gold jewelry, dewy makeup, and her bright blonde hair in loose waves. The bodice of her dress was secured near her collar bone, where fabric from one side was pulled through a loop at the other, wrapping around to the back. The r...

Candice Huffine: "Size Does Not Equal Health, and Weight Does Not Equal Worth"

Image Source: Luvlette Born in Washington DC and raised in a Maryland suburb, Candice Huffine did a little bit of everything when she was growing up, from being captain of the cheerleading squad to taking her turn as a pageant queen. "It was 'typical' in a Hallmark movie kind of way, I guess," Huffine tells POPSUGAR. "These details are important to mention because they did influence my life path. I willingly put myself on a stage at every turn - and not always kind ones - to do the things I loved or to follow a dream I had." Huffine, 39, signed her first modeling contract in 2000. She was "determined" to be a model, despite the fashion industry being notoriously discriminatory toward plus-size people. Knowing the odds were stacked against her propelled Huffine even further toward realizing her dream. "When I received a contract as a plus-size model, it unlocked a new mission in me: to not pursue modeling just for myself, but to push har...

Diaper Shorts Are Back - How to Shop the Controversial TikTok Trend

Of all the street style trends to dominate our FYP and social media feeds in recent years, bloomer shorts seems to be the most bizarre (and ironically one of our top favorites) yet. And who do we have to thank for it? TikTok, of course. In a single scroll on the popular app, you've probably come across the piece multiple times, from those viral Miu Miu briefs to Aritzia's more affordable offerings. Slightly more flirty and risqué than the stomach pudge dress or the fisherman aesthetic , bloomer shorts (aka "diaper shorts") have officially made it to the top of the sartorial food chain. What Are Bloomer Shorts? While the idea of bloomer shorts may seem new or daunting at first, they're far from groundbreaking. Similarly to most trends, the good ol' "everything is new again" concept applies here, as the fad dates back to 1850 when the silhouette was invented as a practical solution for women's health and comfort - eventually grabbing the atten...
