Christian Siriano Re-Creates Some of His Most Iconic Dresses For a Bridal Collection Up to Size 28

Christian Siriano has allowed us into his backyard before - remember when he presented his spring 2021 collection outside during the pandemic? - but now it's for a bridal shoot. The designer decided it was time to bring his optimistic approach back to the wedding world, just when event planning is picking up again. Christian hasn't launched a full bridal range since April 2017, but this 26-piece lineup of pantsuits, glamorous gowns, frilly minidresses, and full tulle skirts more than makes up for the lost time.

"I wanted our brides to get excited about clothes again and feel excited about celebrating their marriage and their lives."

"We shot it at my house and it just was a feel good day, you know?" Christian told POPSUGAR over the phone. If you follow his work (surely you also follow his dedication to bettering our world through philanthropy, particularly throughout these last several months), then you'll recognize some of Christian's signature silhouettes reimagined for 2021 and 2022 brides. That pink ombré creation was on the runway back in 2016 for his Kleinfeld offering, for example, and the silk, body-hugging halter you see here is a fresh take on his lime-green version from the fall 2021 runway. Even though Christian hasn't consistently rolled out bridal through the years, custom wedding dresses have become a huge part of his business, and Niecy Nash's 2016 Emmys dress became one of his most requested styles. So, what did he do? He re-created it here.

"I'm so happy for all of the weddings that were canceled and now they're back and fuller than ever. I wanted our brides to get excited about clothes again and feel excited about celebrating their marriage and their lives. That's why I did it - that's really all it is," Christian said.
